What a weekend, huh? The Mets swept the Rockies to increase their division lead to 5 games over the Nationals who won two of three against the Brewers. That division is tight right now and those two teams have the weakest schedules for the rest of the season right now. Another sweep saw Toronto Blue Jays regain sole possession of the AL East lead. This one should come right down to the wire as the Jays hold just a half game lead based on their one more win in the one more game they have played. It should be an exciting race down to the wire. The Yankees will get the chance to tie it up as they face the Astros while the Jays are off tonight.

We have a full slate of game with one match-up that looks to be very juicy for DFS players. Let’s take a look at Monday’s picks:

The big match-up for daily fantasy purposes today is the Tigers at Reds. These two teams should hit the hell out of each other tonight with Buck Farmer and Keyvius Sampson on the mound. Farmer goes for the Tigers and he holds a 8.39 ERA on the season. ‘Nuff said. He goes against Keyvius Sampson who may end up being a contributor down the road, but his 4.43 ERA combined with a tough match-up in a hitter friendly park should lead to this one seeing fireworks from both sides. I love the over on this one and I love the Tigers/Reds stack. Even if it seems obvious, it’s probably the right move and you need to have at least one of these teams in your stack.

The first place Cardinals face the Diamondbacks in Arizona tonight. I like this game as an over and as a contrarian, under the radar stack. Lance Lynn is a completely different pitcher on the road and this season his ERA is a full run higher on the road. Arizona is pretty hitter friendly and that is a bad combination for him. He goes against Robbie Ray who has had struggles of his own as of late with a 4.76 ERA and 0-4 record over his last five starts. With the power in each of these lineups this one should go over.

The Yankees and Astros do battle tonight in the aforementioned possible playoff preview. This one should see the Yankees grab the win as they face Scott Feldman. He has just a 2.25 ERA over the past month of play, that number lies a bit as he has steal been the same pitcher he’s always been. He is due for a regression tonight and the Yankees should help him with that. The Yankees are sixth against right handed pitchers and always hit well at home. Feldman also has an extremely low strikeout rate which won’t help him tonight. He goes against Nathan Eovaldi who is coming off one of his best starts of the season and really seems to be clicking right now. The Yankees should end the night tied for first place.
