A great night on the betting end last night as we finished 2-1 to improve to 10-1-1 on the week. What a nice run it’s been. On the DFS side my Mets/Tampa Bay did pretty well with over 50 points earning a cash finish, but was pretty far off of the top of the tournament. Just goes to show you can be right all the time, but to win the big GPP tournaments you need to be perfect (and lucky).

There is a full slate of games tonight and plenty of top pitching options. So many in fact that six games have betting lines over -210, yikes. That gives us lots of good options for starting pitching, but in DFS we will be searching for hitting. For our tips today we’re focusing on three games that we like to go over that could improve your lineups.

The Blue Jays and Tigers begin their series in Toronto tonight and it will probably be a great place to stack all weekend. The Blue Jays get a rookie lefty tonight in Matt Boyd (the same Matt Boyd they traded in the David Price deal) and while he may have a bright future ahead of him, that future does not start until after tonight’s game. The Jays KILL lefties better than any other team in the sport and tonight should be no exception. Toronto will send RA Dickey to the mound and that shouldn’t go to well either. His ERA is down over the past month, but that won’t last long as he has been rocked for five runs in each of his last two starts and that could very easily happen again tonight. This game has the highest total on the board, but it should probably be higher.

In a less obvious game, the Mariners face the White Sox in Chicago tonight that we really like for an over. These two teams faced each other less thank a week ago with the same two pitchers on the mound to disastrous results (for the pitchers). Danks gave up 7 runs in that game in five innings of work while Walker added five runs in 5 2/3 innings. If that sort of thing happens again we’ll be very happy. Walker is better than that, but he has a bad habit of imploding around the sixth inning or when things don’t go his way. He has his youth to use an excuse for it, but Danks has no excuse. He’s just a bad pitcher and he will give up some runs tonight. Expect this one to go over and Seattle right handers are in play.

Another great match-up tonight is the Twins and Astros game in Houston. Kyle Gibson is going for the Twins who has been a disaster over his last month of play, post a 6.35 ERA while only striking out 14.7% of batters faced and allowing 1.3 HR/9. He’ll have a hard time tonight in Houston where the ball should be flying off the bats of Astros hitters. Gomez, Gattis and Correa are my top picks to target against him. He goes against Scott Kazmir who has pitched well for the Astros, but hasn’t exactly went deep in any of his starts. In his past four he’s only went the full six innings once and his WHIP has been steadily rising. I think he’ll pitch well, but he’ll be gone early and that can always lead to trouble. He’s not worth his price tonight in DFS, but overall I like this game to go over the posted total.
